Fusion is the name given to our employee development program. It is a demonstration of who we are as a company and the Core Values that guide us. Much like our manufactured foam products are stronger when the individual beads of material are fused together, so is our company. Through building relationships and exposure to different viewpoints, our employees participate in active listening and practice understanding. These team building activities help develop and exercise trust between individuals, making our company stronger. Our Fusion program is broken down into 3 branches, each with a different focus: Inspire, Connect, Engage.

Our Inspire event is a one-day offsite meeting for all employees. It takes place in February and serves as an opportunity to look back at the previous year as well as kickoff the year to come. We invite guest speakers who present on a variety of topics. Other events typically include a discussion panel, annual awards, lunch, and various prizes given away. The whole event is centered on a theme which will be carried throughout the rest of the year.

The heart of Fusion is our Connect semester. Typically in the fall, this 5-week session breaks our company down into cross-departmental small groups of about a dozen employees that participate in a round-table discussion for 1 hour each week. Each group is led by a facilitator who helps spur the conversation around the topic for that week. The topics are chosen and researched by our Fusion Planning Team, and they develop the content for each session. It gives employees a chance to get to know each other better and have meaningful discussions in areas that pertain to work as well as home and family.

Throughout the year, there are a variety of activities that give our employees the opportunity to put their character into practice. These fall under the Engage umbrella. They are interactive ways to remind employees of our Core Values and theme for the year, and give them a chance to live them out. Some activities include food drives, highway cleanup, and our annual Habitat for Humanity house build comprised of mainly PFT volunteers. Whether it is through peer recognitions, text polls, prize drawings, celebration lunches, or other volunteering opportunities, the goal is to prove what we say – to ourselves and to our community.
